When I started learning flash back in 2002, I always hated the fact that I can’t use different HTML tags inside the TextField class. When AS3 launched, I was hoping to see a feature to support that, but that didn’t happen.

My hopes were totally destroyed later when Adobe introduced the new TLFTextField and that was when I understood that HTML like tags will never be added to AS3! The worst part was that I couldn’t find any reference to see why they don’t bother adding that feature. I started Googling around and noticed

that a lot of people are looking for such ability but there is no easy solution to that. So I started to build it myself. When I started coding it, a lot of new ideas popped into my head; One of them was to enable TextField to support rollover and rollout for href links. I was too involved in this now to ignore new ideas!
